What is a mala and how do you make them?
In this class, we will learn the traditional Buddhist technique for making a mala with 108 beads and a wrist mala with 21 beads. Mala is a Sanskrit word for rosary, which is a string of beads used to count prayers or recite mantras and is regarded as very precious. Come learn more about malas, mantras as well as take the opportunity to make (or repair)a mala with Buddhist Teachers Louise Lambert and Eliza Rauch at VKBC.
Cost: $10 per person for the class – various kinds of beads will be available to purchase to make a wrist or 108 mala during the session or take home to make.
