The Foundation Program (FP) is a special systematic and in-depth study program of Mahayana Buddhism designed by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso to meet the needs of modern people.

If you are currently attending classes at Vajrarupini Buddhist Center, and you would like to deepen your experience of Buddha’s teachings, you might enjoy the Foundation Program (FP).

FP is a structured study program that enables us to deepen our knowledge and experience of Modern Buddhism. Classes include guided in-depth meditations, commentary to text and paired group discussion.

There will be a free Introductory Talk on Tuesday, April 3, 7-8pm followed by an actual FP class from 8:15-9:30pm. We will be studying Eight Steps to Happiness, The Buddhist Way of Loving Kindness with our Resident Teacher, Kelsang Chokyi.

cost per month: $70.

Sunday Class

This is taught by Resident Teacher, Kelsang Chokyi, and meets every Sunday at 4:30pm to 6:30pm and at 7pm to 8:30pm with a dinner break in between classes. Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life is a profound and practical guide to living a meaningful way of life devoted to the service of others. It is a classic Buddhist poem from the eighth-century that describes the way of life of a Bodhisattva, a person who has devoted themselves to realizing their full potential to benefit others. We will be studying this book together with the commentary Meaningful to Behold, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Thousands of people around the world participate in the Foundation Program every week, and many people in our local community can testify to its benefits. Eight Steps to Happiness in particular, is one of the most powerful presentations of how to develop a good heart, how to transform difficulties into causes of spiritual paths, and how to train our mind in wisdom and compassion.
