Walking the Path of the Wisdom Buddha
A weekend retreat at Yokoji Retreat Center
Sponsored by Vajrarupini Buddhist Center
5pm Friday - 2pm Sunday, September 24-26
We have so many questions about what to do and how to respond in every different situation. We want certainty and confidence in our lives, but often find ourselves confused and hesitant. Buddha’s teachings offer the solutions to all these dilemmas and problems. Although there are thousands of methods, Buddha’s principal disciple, Manjushri, renowned for his wisdom, integrated all of these teachings into three meditations: renouncing suffering, universal compassion, and the wisdom realizing ultimate truth. Following in Manjushri’s footsteps we can develop great wisdom that will be our guide in every situation and give rise to an ocean of happiness and peace.
In the quiet and peaceful natural setting of Yokoji Retreat Center in the San Bernardino Forest, we will learn the meaning of the text, The Three Principal Aspects of the Path, and how to apply it in our daily lives. With extensive guided meditations, plenty of time for contemplation, and the chance to enjoy teachings and spiritual friendship, this retreat will offer the opportunity we need to refresh ourselves and deepen our wisdom. The Retreat Center, a mountain lodge near Idyllwild, is far away from many of the distractions of daily life, providing a perfect space to get some distance from our problems and to gain perspective on our lives.
The retreat will be guided and taught by Kadampa Buddhist monk, Gen Kelsang Atisha.
Everyone is welcome, but space is limited so people are asked to register well in advance.
